Insomnia, Elections and Voting Machines

Well, I can’t sleep. It’s 3AM, I’m sitting here typing on my computer listening to some late-night truckers radio program and reading Digg.

I just installed Firefox 2.0, by the way. I would’ve earlier, but I couldn’t be bothered until Ubuntu added it to their Package Repositories. Dennis = Lazy.

Anyways, in my reading of Digg, I’ve come across a few articles about how certain voting machines are mysteriously changing voters ballots from straight Democrat to straight Republican. Now, far be it from me to advance any conspiracy theories, but it seems a rather large coincidence that three days out of an important election for Democratic elements such as The Huffington Post to be so worried over some voting machines which obviously are leaning conservative. Especially since the Democrats have seemed so sure of their impending victory for the past six months. Perhaps I’m way off here, but is it not possible that in case of a Democratic defeat this Tuesday, the left is looking to have a ready excuse to fall back upon? It seems too convenient to be plausible. We’ll see, I guess.

Maybe I’ll try to get some sleep. Church and work tomorrow.
